Lop Buri to throw monkey feasts on Nov 27

LOP BURI, Nov 6 (TNA) – Thailand’s Lop Buri province will hold its annual “monkey buffet” festival on Nov 27 in order to promote local tourism. At this year’s event, organizers will provide local monkeys with nine menus of foods, covering appetizers, main dishes, and desserts, on moving vehicles. Yongyuth Kitwatananusont, owner of the Lop Buri Inn Hotel, said his hotel has converted three of its unused vans into “mobile buffet tables” for the monkeys. This new method of serving foods will help to keep the city clean, he noted. Under the 2016 Monkey Buffet Festiva, monkeys will be fed four times – at 10am, at noon 2pm, and 4pm. (TNA)
