Nong Nooch Garden welcomes new baby elephant

PATTAYA, Nov 8 (TNA) -- The Nong Nooch Pattaya Garden and Resort welcomed a new baby girl elephant into its family today, during which the garden also organised a blessing ceremony for the adorable animal. Assistance General Manager for Entertainment at Nong Nooch Garden and Resort Manit Narintarak and employees have called upon the abbot of Wat Samakkhi Banpot temple, Phra Kru Kasem Kittisophon to lead in the blessing ceremony for the new born elephant named, "Phang Took Jai", during which he was splashed with holy water and marked on the forehead with a blessing. Phang Took Jai was born to 19-year-old mother 'Phang Nong Porn', an elephant performer, and 15-year-old father. 'Plai Mai Muang', through natural mating. Mr Manij said Phang Took Jai is healthy, though is being closely watched by veterinarians until she would be able to fend for herself, after which the garden would allow the public to see her and witness how adorable she is.
