Flash Flood Hits Five Villages In East Java's Tulungagung District

TULUNGAGUNG, E Java, Nov 14 (Antara) - A flash flood triggered by heavy rains hit five villages in Tulungagung district, East Java, on Sunday. The heavy rains which fell in the upper reaches of local rivers and in neighboring Trenggalek district caused the rivers to overflow their banks. Chief of emergency and logistics of the Tulungagung district natural disaster mitigation board Nadlori Alwi said the flash flood was triggered by the overflowing of Karangtuwa River. The flood inundated roads and paddy fields. However, it claimed no lives.
