Thailand, Japan cooperate in training course for disabled persons
BANGKOK, Nov 30 (TNA) -- Over 20 people with disabilities are trained to become staff of bakery shop in Bangkok in an empowerment program by Asia-Pacific Center on Disabilities.
In corporation with Japan International Cooperation Agency, the so called "60 Plus Bakery and Café" will be opened on December 11.
Modeled after Japanese café, disabled trainees received the chance to learn bakery, shop management and service.
Once complete the one-year training course, the trainees could be employed at Japanese bakeries in Thailand.
APCD officer Watcharapol Chungcharoen said the training course was based on the principle of social safety net.
Trainees could also become entrepreneur and open up their own business in the future, he said. (END)
