NLA president to invite Crown Prince to ascend the throne
BANGKOK, December 1 (TNA) - National Legislative Assembly (NLA) President Pornpetch Wichitcholchai is scheduled to have an audience with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn later on Thursday to invite the Crown Prince to ascend the throne as the 10th King of Thailand's Chakri Dynasty.
NLA Vice President Peerasak Porchit told journalists that Thursday's NLA session was set to end at 3pm, as the NLA president is scheduled to have an audience with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn.
According to the NLA vice president, after the official invitation by the NLA president is completed, the Bureau of the Royal Household will continue the process for the start of Thailand's new reign.
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, 64, was born on July 28, 1952, as the second child and the only son of Their Majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit.
Late His Majesty King Bhumibol named Prince Vajiralongkorn as the heir to the throne in 1972 in accordance with the 1924 Palace Law on Succession. (TNA)
