MONGOLIAN PRESIDENT TO VISIT INDONESIA IN FEBRUARY

Beijing, Jan. 26 (ANTARA) - President of Mongolia Nambaryn Enkhbayar will make an official visit to Indonesia from February 8 to 11, 2009, to meet President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and other high ranking officials.

"The President of Mongolia is expected to visit Indonesia and the program has been prepared, including a meeting with President Yudhoyono and Vice President M Jusuf Kalla, as well as with other state officials," Indonesian Ambassador to China and concurrently to Mongolia Sudrajat said here on Monday.
The aim of the Mongolian head of state's visit is to intensify the existing sound bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the economic cooperation, according to the ambassador.
Mongolia was especially interested in learning how Indonesia managed its mineral mining.
Ambassador Sudrajat said that Mongolia was very rich of mineral resources and President Enkhbayar was expected to visit a mining site in Indonesia.
The Mongolian President's entourage would include 20 businessmen who would explore cooperation in trade and mining between the two states.
The ambassador said that when he visited Mongolia recently, President Enkhbayar told him that Indonesia was a very potential country in Southeast Asia.
The Mongolian President invited Indonesian investors and tourists to visit Mongolia, Sudrajat said.
Indonesia and Mongolia signed a Memorandum of Understanding when then-President Megawati Soekarnoputri visited Ulan Bator, the Mongolian capital city, in 2003.
"An Indonesian-Mongolian Joint Commission meeting is planned to be held in 2009, after the visit of the Mongolian President to Indonesia," Ambassador Sudrajat said.
