Annual Report highlights Saudi Ports Authority's Achievements
Riyadh, January 26, SPA -- Saudi Ports Authority has issued an annual
report, illustrating its achievements last year.
The report said that the total tonnage handled in all Saudi Ports
during the first 9 months of 2008 reached around 114.7 million tonnes
(mt), showing an increase of 10.19% over the same period of the
previous year in which imports increased by 17.54% and exports by
4.35%.
It pointed out that Jeddah Port registered the biggest hike with
10.50%, and accounted for the biggest share of cargo (34.6 mt) mostly
containers, food, construction materials and the general cargo.
