Annual Report highlights Saudi Ports Authority`s Achievements 2 Riyadh

The report disclosed that King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam came second
among the commercial ports in terms of the volume (17.6 mt) with a
(15.31%) growth rate.

It indicated that King Fahd Industrial Ports in Jubail and Yanbu
handled 31.1 mt and 25.7 mt respectively, mostly petrochemicals and
refined products.

The report said that containers increased in units (TEU) by 10.92%,
adding that by the end of September, 2008, Saudi Ports handled around
3.45 M TEU and that transshipment continued its growth with 1,109,621
TEU, an increase of 1.73%.

It added that Jeddah is the main trans-shipment port.
