Foot-and-mouth disease spread in Buri Ram
BURI RAM, Dec 11 (TNA) -- Livestock Development officials in the northeastern province of Buri Ram have imposed strict control on moving animals out of five districts in the province after a deadly foot-and-mouth disease is still spreading.
Officials have set up quarantine checkpoints as well as providing vaccination to animals including cattle, goat, sheep and pig in the five provincial districts, aimed at preventing the disease from spreading to other areas.
According to an official in Khu Muang district, one of the five districts where the disease is found in the animals, quarantine checkpoints have been set up soon after the disease is found.
The situation has somehow eased and it is hoped that officials will be able to control the disease soon, he added. (TNA)
