Thai students win six IJSO medals

BANKOK, Dec 11 (TNA) -- Six Thai students have won a gold medal and five silver medals from the 13th International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) competition, held in the Indonesian resort of Bali between December 2 – 11. The gold medalist is Pakkapol Thadavasind, a student of Bangkok’s Patumwan Demonstration School, Srinakharinwirot University or commonly known as Satit Patumwan. The silver medals are taken by two boys and three girl students. All of them are scheduled to return home Sunday night. The IJSO is an annual individual and team competition in the Natural Sciences for students under 16 years old on December 31 of the competition year. It has been established in recognition of the significance of the Natural Sciences in the general education of young people and in all aspects of their lives. (TNA)
