Six drug traffickers nabbed in two separate cases
BANGKOK, Dec 12 (TNA) - Police have arrested six alleged drug traffickers in two separate cases and seized more than 800,000 methamphetamine or Yaba pills and almost 5kilogrammes of cocaine.
Police General Chalermkiat Srivorakan, deputy national police chief told a press conference that the police acted on a tip-off, arresting two Thais in Ayutthaya province with about 140,000 pills of methamphetamine in their possession.
After the interrogation of the two suspects, police later apprehended two others and seized more than 700,000 meth pills at a house in Ayutthaya’s Bang Pa-in district.
In another incident on Dec 9, police arrested a Bolivian man identified as Reque Enrique Antonio and Ms. Arancicia Caseres Nancy at Suvarnabhumi Airport after they found almost 5 kilogrammes of cocaine in secret compartments in their suitcases.
The duo arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport from Ethiopia to transfer on to their destination in Cambodia’s Siem Reap.
The street value of the narcotics seized in two cases totals about 200 million baht. (TNA).
