EDUCATIONAL BUDGET SHOULD REACH ITS GOAL: PRESIDENT SAYS
Malang, E Java, Jan 28 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has expressed a commitment to continue supervising the use of the educational budget of 20 percent of the state budget to reach its goal.
The president made the remark when inaugurating a new building of Maulana Malik Ibrahim state Islamic University here on Tuesday.
"I issue this instruction so that the big budget would meet its target," he said, adding that the educational budget should be organized and synergize with the state, provincial and regional budgets.
The president also hoped that the regional administration could allocate 20 percent of the educational budget from their own budgets.
President Yudhoyono said further that law no. 20/2003 on the national ecucation system and law no. 14/2005 concerning teachers and lecturers, reflected the government's trong commitment.
