Envoy: Philippines best partner of Iran in Far East

Kuala Lumpur, Tehran, Dec 28, IRNA – Iranian Ambassador to the Philippines Mohammad Tanhaei on Wednesday said Manila is the best partner of Tehran in the Far East region.
Talking to IRNA, Tanhaei predicted that the level of the mutual transaction could be increased during the tenure of newly-elected Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.
He added there is no hindrance in the way of fostering all-out ties between the two countries.
Touching upon the Duterte's independent foreign policy, Tanhaei expressed hope that the level of mutual transactions could be expanded in all arenas.
Commenting on the Philippines's seven percent economic growth, the Iranian envoy underscored that the ground is properly prepared for the two countries' businessmen to make the investment and enter into mutual transactions.
He added the Philippines is in dire need of accessing the reliable and constant sources for meeting the country's oil and gas requirements.
The envoy reiterated that the Philipino officials hail expansion of relations with Iran in oil and gas sectors.
Referring to the Duterte's policy for fostering the country's medical and health sector, the envoy underscored that Tehran could expand its ties with Manila in the fields of exporting pharmaceuticals to this country.
