8th Islamic Information Ministers Conference concludes, issuing
The Rabat Declaration upheld the ongoing reforms of the Islamic media
system, calling on its completion so that the International Islamic
News Agency (IINA) and the Islamic Broadcasting Unions (ISB) could be
able to acquire the necessary effectiveness and efficiency in serving
the issues of the Islamic world.
Participants called on the opening up of the policies boosting
dialogue among the followers of cultures, religions and civilizations
with the keenness to recall, in this regard, the privileged
initiative by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin
Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The Rabat Declaration also stressed the need to look at the conflict
with Israel as a political struggle to end the occupation and the
recovery of rights and not as a religious or ethnic one.
It called on making the media in the OIC's member states in the
service of truth and reflect the concerns of the citizens of Islamic
countries and enjoy the utmost professionalism and objectivity.
