PM expresses his condolences to pilot killed in plane crash
BANGKOK, Jan 14 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha has expressed his condolences to pilot who was killed when his jet crashes during air show during National Children's Day in Songkhla.
Deputy Government Spokesman said that Gen Prayuth has expressed deep condolences to the pilot's family and the Royal Thai Air Force for their losses.
He reiterated to all military units to increase safety measures to ensure that no more lives would be lost, stressing that the government via the Defense Ministry would work at its best efforts to compensate the victims of such tragic accidents.
Meanwhile, the Royal Thai Air Force Commander in Chief Air Chief Marshal Johm Rungswang also expressed deep regrets and sympathy for the tragic event and to the victim's family.
He noted that he has ordered the aircraft accident inspection committee and concerned agencies to immediately examine the scene to evaluate the true cause of the accident.
A Swedish-made JAS 39 Gripen fighter jet went down during an airshow at Hat Yai airport in the Southern province of Songkhla, causing the pilot to loose control of the aircraft and crashed, killing him instantly. (TNA)
