Military engineers mobilised to help repair damaged homes by flood

PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, Jan 14 (TNA) -- Military engineers from the Joang Ang Seuk Special Unit from Surasee task force have been mobilised to help repair the damaged houses in Bang Saphan district, which have been destroyed by the worst flooding in decades. Deputy Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan province Somporn Patchimphet said that there are no more inundations in the Bang Saphan district, which had been hit by the severest flooding in decades. Nonetheless, he said, a primary inspected revealed that thousands of families have been cut off from the outside world due the flood, and still could not commute in or out of their villagers for the time being. A a total of 65 roads and bridges have been heavily damaged, all of which are located in the Klong Loy, Chaikasem, Thongchai, and Rong Thong subdistricts, making it difficult to also relay food and necessities into affected locations. The deputy governor added that a total of 39 homes have also been found to be completed destroyed and are in need of immediate repair. To help with the issue, the province has coordinated with the Joang Ang Seuk Special Unit of Surasee task force to assist affected villagers in repairing their homes, as well as to help construct temporary bridges in order to allow the villagers to travel to and from their villagers in case of need and emergencies.
