PERTAMINA PRESIDENT DIRECTOR TO BE NAMED NEXT WEEK

Jakarta, Jan 30 (ANTARA) - Minister for State Enterprises (BUMN) Sofyan Djalil said the government would name the new president director of state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina next week.

The minister said here on Thursday that he had already had three to five candidates that would be selected to assume the state company's top position, replacing Arie Soemarno.
According to the minister, the candidates came from inside and outside state company Pertamina. "There are three to five persons tipped for the Pertamina position," he said.
He refused to mention the names of the persons he said would be selected for the Pertamina top position.
Djalil said that names of the candidates would be discussed further with the minister for energy and mineral resources and the minister of finance before a fit and proper test was to be conducted.
After that, he added, the final assessment team would submit the name of the candidate to the president and the vice president.
"This week the process would have been finished in my office so we hope that next week the name of the definitive candidate would have been decided," Djalil added.
