Grand Chamberlain of Thailand dies at 89

BANGKOK, Jan 28 (TNA) -- Thailand's Grand Chamberlain of the Royal Household Bureau Khwankeo Vajarodaya, passed away with a sudden heart attack this early morning at Siriraj Hospital. Dean of Medicine Faculty of Siriraj Hospital Prof Dr Prasit Wattanapa said that at precisely 4.48am, Thailand's time, the country's Grand Chamberlain has died with a sudden heart failure at the age of 89 years old. According to the physician, Khwankeo had been receiving treatments for Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) at Siriraj's Coronary Care Unit (CCU) for some time before his death. The bathing rite of the body to signal the first day of the funeral ceremony for the Grand Chamberlain is scheduled to be held on January 29 at the Wat Benchamabophit at 5.30 pm. Mr Khwankeo was born on September 3, 1928 to Phraya Anurak Ratchamonthien (Kad Vajarodaya) and Thanphuying Anurak Ratchamonthien (Phua Vajarodaya). He had a twin brother named Keokhwan, who passed away last year at the age of 88, also with a heat failure. (TNA)
