Trang to pay compensation to flood victims

TRANG, Jan 30 (TNA) – The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office in Trang will pay compensation to flood victims after flooding recedes in four districts. The compensation will be given to flood victims today at the Trang city hall today after the flood situation in the provincial seat and three districts – Wang Wiset, Huai Yot and Kantang returned to normal, said head of the local disaster prevention and mitigation office, Kultharin Rojanasurasi. However, only 200 houses in low-lying areas along the Trang River in the provincial seat remain under water. It is expected that the situation will return to normal within this week if there is no more rain. After several weeks of flooding, local people suffer from Athlete’s Foot in almost all villages. Provincial health officials have been already dispatched to help them with medical treatment while many agencies continue to hand out relief supplies to affected people. (TNA)
