Safe agricultural practices exhibition held at National Science Museum

BANGKOK, Feb 12 (TNA) -- The National Science Museum introduces a new permanent exhibition focusing on the promotions of safe agricultural practices through the use of science and technology. The exhibition is divided into three zones. The first zone focuses on the negative impacts of the current chemical-based agricultural practices. The second zone, or the "Desirable Happiness" zone, demonstrates agricultural practices which do not rely on the chemicals, thereby minimizing health risks for the consumers while also being environmentally friendly. The third zone features alternative agricultural practices, including diversified agriculture, organic-based agriculture, and increase use of science and technology to improve quality and productivity. Science and technology play an important role in the modern agricultural development as it can help farmers grow their plants without using chemicals, raise drug-free animals, as well as helping families grow vegetables for their own consumptions," said Science and Technology Minister Ms Atchaka Sibunruang. The exhibition is targeted at the younger generations including students and modern farmers who look for new ideas to advance their agricultural practices. It is also in line with the government's new strategy called "Thailand 4.0", which promotes the use of science and technology for agricultural activities, industrial development, and production. In addition, construction of a new innovations building within the science museum is about to start. The building will be a new learning center on innovations and will serve as an incubator for younger generations, such as start-ups entrepreneurs, to advance their work and businesses using innovations.
