AMIEN RAIS ASKS GOVT NOT TO LET FOREIGN MONOPOLY GO UNATTENDED

Garut, Indonesia, Feb 1 (ANTARA) - Former Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Amien Rais asked the government not to let such monopoly enjoyed by foreigners in this country go unattended, as it had to do with the basic problem of the nation's economy as a whole.

"The leader of the nation has no the courage to touch the main problem or only defines himself in fuel oil issue. In fact, the leader should give priority on thankgiving pattern throught which the foreigners should not be let their monopoly go unchecked," he said here on Sunday.
Amien said he was little bit confused to see a war of opinions which tended to issue a statement calling on the people not to choose presidential candidate with initial 'S'.

Accordingly, a war of opinions should be made as a lesson for the people who have been trapped in feudalistic way of life in addition to declaring 2009 as decisive year for Indonesian development.
Touching on his nomination for presidential race, Amien said he would not run for presidential election if the support was possibly predicted to be lower.

As to the security during the general election, the police and military should actually tighten their effort to control it.
