Measures to advance Bahrain-Russian trade ties discussed during bilateral meeting

Manama, Feb. 21 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today met with His Excellency Mr. Dennis Manturov, the Russian Federation’s Minister of Industry and Trade, at Gudaiybia Palace. During the meeting, His Royal Highness stressed Bahrain’s aspiration to further build on the trade and economic ties it holds with the Russian Federation, highlighting the commercial successes created as a consequence of wide-ranging agreements between the two countries. His Royal Highness went on to note Bahrain’s commitment to maintaining an open, competitive and sustainable business environment, which has already proved successful in attracting strong levels of international investment, including from Russia. The Crown Prince emphasised the importance of the visits conducted by His Majesty King Hamad to the Russian Federation and the exchange of visits that followed, which have facilitated the development of Bahrain-Russian cooperation across a range of vital sectors. His Royal Highness noted both countries’ shared commitment to reinforcing and expanding commercial relations and bilateral partnerships, while also highlighting the importance of GCC-Russian relations to the regional economy. His Royal Highness went on to welcome the Minster and his delegation to the Kingdom, and thanked them for their participation in the first meeting of the Joint Government Committee for commercial, economic, scientific and technological cooperation. His Royal Highness wished the Joint Committee success for the future. For his part, the Russian Minster of Industry and Trade expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness for the opportunity to meet with him, and for the support he extends to the development of Bahraini-Russian ties.
