PRESIDENT CHAIRS CABINET MEETING ON DAILY NECESSARY PRICES

Jakarta, Feb 2 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono led a closed-door cabinet meeting on daily necessary prices and the country's maritime borders at his office here Monday morning.

The meeting which started at 10 am local time was attended by all three coordinating ministers (for political, legal and security affairs, for economic affairs and for the people's welfare), a number of ministers, the military commander and the national police chief.
Later in the day, the president was scheduled to receive Indonesian members of the Indonesia-Malaysia Eminent Persons Group (EPG), namely Try Sutrisno, Quraish Shihab, Musni Umar, Prudentia Puranti, Wahyuni Bahar and Des Alwi Abubakar.
The group was to report the results of EPG meetings concerning efforts to improve Indonesia-Malaysia relations.
The Indonesia-Malaysia EPG was formed in mid-2008 and consists of seven prominent personalities from each country to settle problems in the two countries' bilateral ties and improve their people-to-people relations.
The two governments decided to form the EPG after a number of incidents in Malaysia gave rise to strong public reactions in Indonesia causing high tensions in the two countries' diplomatic relations.
Among the incidents were the molestation of an Indonesian referee by Malaysian security officers, the mistaken arrest of the wife of an Indonesian education attache, and Malaysian claims to certain products of Indonesian culture.
