President Gul lauds Saudi-Turkish ties

Riyadh, February 02, SPA -- Turkish President Abdullah Gul has
highlighted the significance of Saudi-Turkish relations and said
these are deep-rooted ties within the framework of their linkage with
social, cultural and religious bonds.

"We do love the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin
Abdulaziz, the Saudi Leadership and Saudi people," he said, noting
that the visits of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz visit to Turkey in
2006 and 2008 have provided a clear evidence of the great attention
he gives to Turkey.

He lauded the initiatives of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz for
bringing about peace and stability in the region and said Turkey has
strongly supported the initiative which led to the Makkah agreement
as well as the King's Arab initiative he presented at Beirut summit.

In a statement published today in the newspapers of Okaz, Al-Madinah
and Hayat on the occasion of his visit to the Kingdom, President Gul
said 'we do support each other at all international forums and
consult each other on the regional and international issues which are
of mutual interest'.
