Labour Ministry to hold International Women's Day event
BANGKOK, March 7 (TNA) -- The Thai Ministry of Labour is set to organise an event to mark the International Women's Day on March 8, aiming to lift Thai women to welcome the Thailand 4.0 scheme.
Deputy Director General of theDepartment of Labour Protection and Walfare Suwittaya Chantawong said the International Women's Day event would be held on March 8 this year at the Miracle Grand Convention Hotel in Bangkok.
Activity highlights at the event include an award presenting ceremony for 27 outstanding working women in 2016 in eight categories, such as Director-General of the Legal Execution Department Ms Ruenwadee Suwannamongkol, which has been named the best female governmental agency executive, Mrs Saithip Montrikul Na Adyudhaya for outstanding female media, and Ms Suriwipa Kultangwattana for best female artist, all of whom would be come role models for a total of 17 million working women in Thailand in all sectors.
The figure showed that Thai women have the potential to become head of the family and help to create value in the domestic economy, while also being able to balance work and duties at home exceptionally.
Another highlight is a talk show on, "The Role of Modern Women and Thailand 4.0", by 'Cee' Chatpawee Trichatchawanwong and various exhibitions including on Thai robots, labour clinics, promotion of freelance jobs, the raising of income of women in Thailand 4.0, e-Commerce and women health checkups.
