Department of Water Resources to hold events to mark World Day for Water

BANGKOK, March 11 (TNA) -- Thailand's Department of Water Resources is set to hold an event in celebrations of the World Day for Water on March 22, under the theme, "The King's Science and Sustainable Water Management". The Department Director-General Worasart Apaipong said the World Day for Water, which falls on March 22 of every year and the Department has planned to organise the National Water Conservation Week together with the World Day for Water to encourage Thai people to help preserve water and sustainably develop water resources. The theme of this year's event is "The King's Science and Sustainable Water Management", in which the works of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej would be put on display in remembrance and honours of His Majesty's efforts to help develop water resources in the country. He noted that on the official opening of the event, scheduled to be held at Impact Muang Thong Thani on March 22, would be provided over by Prime Minister Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha, during which he would also give a special speech on water management.
