OIC deplores desecration holy places of Muslims in Crimea
Jeddah, February 03, SPA -- A spokesman of the Observatory on
Islam-phobia, an affiliate of the Organization of Islamic Conference
(OIC) expressed concerns about the rising of vandalism targeting holy
places of Muslims in Crimea which includes desecrating Mosques and
destroying and defacing the monuments of famous figures of the
Crimean Tatar people erected in Crimean towns as well as gravestones
in cemeteries by extremists.
In a press release issued here today, the spokesman said that such
deplorable activities are beyond all accepted norms of civilized
behavior and would pose threat to inter-communal peace and harmony in
the society.
The spokesman called for immediate strong measures to be taken by
the authorities against the perpetrators of such extremist and
hateful acts who are common enemies to the entire international
community and to put an end to such incidents.
