Lexis Hibiscus Achieves Two Guinness World Records

PORT DICKSON (Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia), March 15 (Bernama) -- Lexis Hibiscus on Tuesday made it to the Guinness World Records for the 'The most swimming pools in a resort 643' and 'The most overwater villas in a single resort at 522'. Guinness World Records representative Swapnil Dangarikar handed over two plaques to property owner, Kuala Lumpur Metro Group Managing Director Low Tak Fatt and Lexis Hotel Group President Mandy Chew Siok Cheng, witnessed by Deputy Tourism and Culture Minister Mas Ermieyati Samsudin. Earlier, Malaysia's Tourism and Culture Minister Nazri Abdul Aziz said not many people can boast of such achievements and therefore, more Malaysians whether as individuals or corporate companies are encouraged to emulate the Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson to put Malaysia in a positive spotlight and on par with the rest of the world. "Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson has set a new record in the country by being the first resort that has equipped every room with a private pool and steam room for relaxation and leisure activities. "It is this innovative touch that propelled the resort to achieve and secure not one, but two spots in the much coveted Guinness World Records for 'The most swimming pools in a resort 643' and 'The most overwater villas in a single resort at 522'. "I must say this is indeed a proud achievement for the resort and Malaysia to have obtained the accolades from a prestigious institution, known for its documentation of record breaking feats," he said. His speech was read by Mas Ermieyati. Also present was Kuala Lumpur Metro Group Chairman Mat Hassan Esa. Meanwhile, Low said with the recognition from Guinness World Records, he expects the occupancy rate for the hotel to increase to 70 per cent, from the current 60 per cent, through aggressive advertising through roadshows, travel and trade fairs, and social media marketing. Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson features 639 pool villas comprising 117 tower rooms and 522 over the water villas. On other development, Low said the group plans to open another resort in Melaka, with a water home concept. "We are still in talks with the state government and we are also looking for a joint venture company to build the resort," he said, adding that, besides Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson, the group also manages the Lexis PD, Grand Lexis PD and Lexis Suites Penang. --BERNAMA
