Thailand expresses condolences for passing of Sok An
BANGKOK, March 17 (TNA) -- Thai Minister of Foreign Affairs Don Pramudwinai has expressed his deepest condolence on behalf of the Thailand people to Cambodia, for the loss of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Attached to the Cambodian Prime Minister Office Sok An, one of the country's top officials.
The Thai minister said that he had had a telephone conversation with his Cambodian counterpart Prak Sokhon, during which he had expressed sadness for the passing of the deputy premier.
The minister added that an official message of condolences would also be presented by the head of the government again later on, where the Thai government would also send in a representative to attend the funeral of the late Cambodian deputy premier.
The foreign minister noted that Minister Sok An had been Cambodian Premier's Hun Sen right-hand man for the past few decades, and disclosed that he believes all operations under the current Cambodian government would continue to run smoothly.
Sok An who was one of Prime Minister Hun Sen's closest political and personal allies, died Wednesday at age 66. (TNA)
