Thunderstorm hit Lop Buri

LOP BURI, March 18 (TNA) -- The central province of Lopburi is providing immediate assistance to homes affected by thunderstorms in the past week. Lop Buri Governor Panu Yamsri has recieved a report earlier today that a thunderstorm has hit the area for about 30 minutes long, wreaking havoc on four local villages in Ban Mi district. A total of 33 houses, along with a monk housing have been completely damaged, with roofs ripped off, while trees were felled. A couple of electricity poles and a community water tank were also destroyed, causing black outs in a large area. The Chonmuang Subdistrict Administrative Organisation (SAO) had hurriedly contacted Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) at Ban Mi after loosing power and electricity has now been restored. The governor has further ordered concerned agencies in inspect the damages to provide the quickest assistance to affected victims, as the province could be hit by more thunderstorms. Three districts in Lop Buri have already been hit by thunderstorms in the past week. (TNA)
