National University of Mongolia appoints acting President

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In accordance with an ordinance of the Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports, new acting President has been appointed at National University of Mongolia, the oldest and most prestigious university in Mongolia. Ya.Tumurbaatar (Ph.D) took the position of acting President as he received the seal from former President R.Bat-Erdene on March 17, Friday, the university reported through its official website today, March 20. The acting President Ya.Tumurbaatar, 53, studied polity in Germany and previously worked as Deputy Minister for Education, Culture, Science and Sports. Founded in 1942, the National University of Mongolia unites five affiliate schools in Ulaanbaatar, 2 provincial schools, three national institutes and other research units. The university provides higher education to 17,056 Bachelor’s students, 3,469 Master’s students, 940 Doctor’s students and 304 international students.
