Free entrance to historical parks on Thai Heritage Conservation Day
BANGKOK, March 29 (TNA) -- Thailand's Department of Fine Arts has organised a special project in celebrations of the Thai Heritage Conservation Day which falls on every April 2, where this year visitors would able to visit all historical parks and museums across the nation for free.
Fine Arts Department Director-General Anandha Chuchoti said that as every April 2, which is the birthday of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has been designated as the Thai Heritage Conservation Day to honour HRH the Princess for her efforts to preserve the Thai national heritage and culture.
The Department is set to organise various activities to celebrate the occasion this year, as well as in remembrance of His late Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, whom was also known as the Father of Thai Heritage Conservation.
This year on April 2, the public would be granted free entrance to all historical parks and museums nationwide, where visitors would be able to join in with cultural heritage conservation activities at all the important national archaeological sites in four regions, along with participate in seminar on April 4 at the National Theatre to learn more about the late revered monarch's intelligence on languages and literature.
Special Khon performances would also be held for the entire week or from April 2-8 as part of the Thai Heritage Conservation week at the National Theatre and anyone interested in watching the show, could do so between 5-8 pm free of charge. (TNA)
