Police hunt gunmen in Narathiwat police station attack

NARATHIWAT, March 31 (TNA) – The police collected evidence in a pick-up truck used by gunmen in carrying a shooting attack at the Ra-ngae police station in the violence-plagued province of Narathiwat. One police officer was killed and three others injured when six gunmen in a pick-up truck opened fires at police officers during the national Anthem and flag raising at 8 am yesterday at the Ra-ngae police station. The police later found the pick-up truck, parked at a para rubber plantation in Ra-ngae district and moved the truck to the police station for gathering evidence. Forensic police have thoroughly checked to vehicle today to search for DNA traces of the assailants. The Narathiwat native who is the owner of the pick-up truck have been questioned about their stolen vehicle and the description of the robbers to check whether it matches anyone in criminal records. The police will conduct more searches at targeted areas and will gather more evidence to seek arrest warrants for the attackers from the court. (TNA)
