Turkish President visits Shoura Council 2 Riyadh
DR bin Humeid said "We, in Saudi Arabia are aware that you perhaps
share our view that the Palestinian cause is the main cause of all
Middle East problems, and that the tragedies will continue if we do
not solve the Palestinian issue. The Arab peace initiative, which has
received International welcome, constitutes a historic opportunity to
achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on international
agreements and decisions, and we look forward to working with you
hand in hand to reach this noble goal, taking into consideration that
the announcement of our leadership that Arab Peace Initiatives will
not remain on the table forever."
He expressed his appreciation and admiration for the Turkish
government to reconsider the firm and strong stands about the vicious
war of barbarism committed by the Zionist enemy against Gazans and
the consequences of the destruction and injustices inflicted on their
rights. He also expressed his admiration and appreciation for the
remarkable Turkish stand in this context.
He pointed out that the visit of the Turkish President to the
Kingdom followed the tragic events in Gaza and the sufferings of its
people, and it also comes after the address of the Custodian of the
Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz (in Kuwait Summit),
which paved the way for Arab brotherhood and opened the door for Arab
reconciliation.
DR bin Humeid also noted the subject of terrorism suffered by both
Saudi Arabia and Turkey and said the sinful (elements) killed lives
of innocent children, make some others orphans, killed husbands. "
Despite all this, the country still enjoys security and safety, and a
great success is achieved in the hunt for terrorists and in pursuit
to eliminate them as well as engage in pre-emptive actions and
foiling their devious sedition."
"The international terrorism is one of the topics that are of great
importance to both countries. Terrorism in all its forms is
unacceptable, whatever the motives and reasons. It should not be
linked to religion, sex or country," he said.
Dr bin Humeid, then, spoke about relations between Saudi Arabia and
Turkey in various fields, stating that the tourism statistics
indicate that the number of Saudi tourists visiting Turkey is more
than 70,000 tourists a year and that Saudi Arabia is happy to host
100,000 highly qualified Turkish citizens, who are participating in
the development of the country and its reconstruction.
