BEI INDEX CLOSES 0.63 PERCENT HIGHER ON COMMODITIES GAIN

Jakarta, Feb. 5 (ANTARA) - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) at the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) closed 0.63 points higher in the bourse's morning session on Thursday.
The IHSG opened at 1,328.666, up 8.303 points or 0.63 percent, and the LQ45 index rose 1.567 points or 0.61 percent to 260.935.
The BEI stocks advanced on commodity-based shares such as Bumi Resources shares which surged Rp50 to Rp550, Adaro Energy shares which added Rp30 to Rp800, Bukit Asam Coal Mining Company shares that went up Rp50 to Rp7,400, Timah (Tin) shares which were up Rp10 to Rp1,070, and Antam shares which rose Rp10 to Rp1,080.
The BEI index surge was on the regional bourses gains such as at the Hong Kong bourse with Hang Seng index which was up 2.69 percent to 13,414.70, and the Straits Times index at the Singapore bourse which strengthened 0.42 percent to the level of 1,714.53.
The gains in the regional bourses boosted the Jakarta Stock movements, with 52 shares that gained, 34 which lost, and 42 shares that remained static.
Share trading activity in BEI was quite active with the number of transactions recorded at 844.424 million shares involving 290.905 million shares worth a total of just Rp332.800 billion.
