BANGKOK, April 22 (TNA) -- Thailand’s employment situation has improved and a total of 26,209 persons are employed in March this year, up 10.97 per cent from February, said a spokesman of the Prime Minister’s Office.
Spokesman Lt Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd said the government is putting efforts in controlling the unemployment rate at the appropriate level and the current employment rate now stands in line with the country’s Employee Confidence Index which rose to 71.4 in March from 70.3 in February.
The Consumer Confidence Index last month rose highest in the past two years, he said.
Prime Minister Gen Prayuth Chan-o-cha has constantly monitoring the country’s economy and employment positions, said Lt Gen Sansern, adding that the prime minister believes the country’s economy has started improving because of cooperation from every party.
In order to eradicate unemployment problem, 77 employment centres are set up nationwide to help the jobless people, he added. (TNA)
