Vietnam Airlines tempts French tourists with discounts

Paris (VNA) - The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines' French branch, along with
a number of travel agencies in both countries are offering 20-25 percent discounts
on selected tours to Vietnam .

The discounts, which apply from April 21 to June 19 and from August 21 to October
20, form part of a tourism promotion started on February 5 by the airline, in
conjunction with the travel companies.

The promotion is part of a broader campaign, titled "Impressive Vietnam", launched
by Vietnam 's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in order to attract more
visitors to the country.

The campaign has been widely advertised on several popular French websites,
including Le Monde, Courier International, Yahoo Voyage and Telerama.

The number of visitors to the airline's website has reportedly increased four-fold
since the launch of the promotion. Their office has fielded a huge number of calls
from people requesting more information about the tours, demonstrating the high
level of public interest in the offer.

Vietnam Airlines says it plans to launch an additional, large-scale marketing
campaign, entitled " Vietnam Sea Tourism Festival 2009" to attract European
visitors to Vietnam 's beaches. The launch ceremony is scheduled to take place
at the Pierre Cardin fashion centre in Paris in April.-Enditem
