Indonesia, Russia Hold 6th PPC Meeting
JAKARTA, May 23 (Antara) - The Policy Assessment and Development Board (BPPK) of the Indonesian Foreign Ministry held the 6th Policy Planning Consultation meeting with the Foreign Policy Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Bali on May 18.
The Indonesian delegation for the meeting was led by BPPK Chief Siswo Pramono, while the Russian delegation was led by Chief of the Foreign Policy Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Oleg Stepanov, the Indonesian Foreign Ministry said in a press statement released, Monday.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed the direction of each other's foreign policy, as well as the global and regional political and economic dynamics, which have an impact on the foreign policies of the two countries.
Among the issues discussed at the meeting were dynamic situations in Europe and the Asia Pacific region, situation in the South China Sea, China's One Belt One Road (OBOR) program, Pivot to Asia program, and economic cooperation under the framework of Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
In addition, the two sides also discussed the new administration in United States, latest developments in the Middle East and ways to thwart terrorism and extremism.
The meeting, which is held every year, is a forum to exchange information and views between the foreign policy planning units of the two countries while facing a wide range of global issues.
The 5th PPC meeting was held in Moscow, Russia, in 2015.
