Flood continues in Bangkok
BANGKOK, May 26 (TNA) – As parts of Bangkok remain under water following heavy rain yesterday, the capital today is facing more rain as the Meteorological Department forecast abundant rainfall here for the next two days.
Meanwhile, flooding at the Lat Phrao Temple has eased on Friday morning. The water has dropped to 10-15 centimetres from one metre yesterday. Monks could receive morning alms and perform prayers. Roads are impassable this morning. However, the water level in the canal near the temple is swollen and could overflow its bank if there is more rain.
In the northern province of Chiang Mai, many roads in the Nakhon Chiang Mai municipality have been flooded as high as 50 centimetres at some spots, making it difficult for small vehicles to pass. The Thetsaban Wat Si Ping Mueang School is closed today due to flooding.
Municipal officials have expedited water drainage into the canals under an overcast sky. (TNA)
