TRADE MINISTER INSPECTS PREPARATIONS FOR DUMAI AS ECONOMIC ZONE

Pekanbaru, Feb 11 (ANTARA) - Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu arrived here on Wednesday to inspect preparations for Dumai's declaration as a Special Economic Zone (KEK).
"The Trade Minister is here to inspect the preparations," said Zulkarnain Kadir, chief public relations officer at the Riau provincial administraion Zulkarnain Kadir said.
Some locations inspected by the Trade Minister were Pelintung industrial area, Dumai port and PT Wilmar.
Minister Pangestu is one of four ministers who have considered the establishment special economic zones, Kadir added.
Some 5,084 hectares in Pelintung were prepared for industrial ares.
