Two Saudis win Gold Medals in World Winter Special Olympic Games
Riyadh, February 11, SPA -- Saudi Players Habib Hussein Al-Oleiwi,
Hussein Abdullah Albttiyan have won a Gold Medal each, in running
events of 200 meters in the Ninth Special World Winter Olympics, in
Boise Idaho, USA.
Prince Sultan bin Fahd, President of the Youth Welfare and his
deputy Prince Nawaf bin Faisal bin Fahd congratulated and attributed
the Saudi special Olympics achievement to the God Almighty and then
to the support and attention given by the Custodian of the Two Holy
Mosques and the Crown Prince for both the youth and sports in Saudi
Arabia to reach continental and international levels particularly the
members of the Saudi teams for people with special needs, which was
and is still the place of appreciation and admiration of all
observers.
Special Olympics World Winter Games-Idaho, USA -2009 started
last Saturday February 07 and conclude on February 13.
As many as 3000 competitors from different continents, are competing
in Seven games including Alpine Skiing; Cross-country Skiing, Floor
Hockey, Snowboarding, snowshoeing and speed Skating.
The Saudi athletes participating in the tournament, have
intellectual disabilities. They include Hussein Albttiyan, Habib
AlOleiwi, Ali Faqih and Tariq Gharawi.
