Thai export grows at fastest pace in over four years

BANGKOK, June 24 (TNA) - Thailand’s export grew at the fastest pace in 52 months in May, fostering the momentum for the country’s recovery. The Commerce Ministry announced the customs-cleared exports rose for a third straight month in May. The ministry’s data shows exports climbed 13.2 percent in May from a year earlier, said Senior Commerce Ministry official Pimchanok Vonkhorporn. She attributed the higher-than-expected growth to the improving global demand in all key markets improved. The yearly export growth target remained at five percent, she said, expressing confidence of achieving that goal. (TNA)
