BEI INDEX CLOSES SLIGHTLY LOWER THURSDAY MORNING
Jakarta, Feb. 12 (ANTARA) - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) at the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) closed 0.44 percent lower here in morning trading Thursday.
The IHSG closed 5.790 points lower a 1,319.034, and the LQ45 index weakened 1.344 points or 0.52 percent to 257.700.
PT Trimegah Securities in its daily research analysis said here on Thursday that the IHSG would still be under pressure of selling as there was a lack of positive sentiment in the domestic as well as global markets.
The BEI index slump followed the trend in the regional bourses which mostly tumbled, for instance, Hang Seng index at the Hong Kong bourse plunged 2.26 percent, Nikkei index at the Tokyo bourse went down 2.82 percent and Straits Times index at the Singapore bourse fell 1.32 per cent.
That condition caused 56 shares lost, 27 shares gained, and 47 shares remained static at the BEI's morning trading.
Shares which lost at the BEI included Bumi Resources shares which went down Rp20 to Rp740, State Gas Company (PGN) shares that decreased 25 points to Rp2,000, Indofood shares which plunged Rp20 to Rp950, Telkom shares which slided Rp100 to Rp6,350, Indosat shares which tumbled Rp1000 to Rp5,750, and Astra Agro Lestari shares that fell Rp500 to Rp12,050.
The number of share transactions were recorded at 28,983 involving 2.355 billion shares worth a total of Rp632.638 billion.
