CIDB PLANS FLAGSHIP PROJECT IN INDONESIA

JAKARTA, Feb 13 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's Construction Industry Development
Board (CIDB) plans to launch a flagship project in Indonesia to help Malaysian
contractors seize the vast opportunities present in the infrastructure
development industry in the republic.

CIDB chief executive Hamzah Hassan said Malaysian contractors who now
operated in 35 countries should not miss out on the opportunity.

"Now is the time as the Indonesian government is jumpstarting projects like
highways, airports, ports and rail networks to stimulate the country's economy,"
he told Malaysian journalists here Thursday.

Hamzah is in the country to attend the "ASEAN Constructors Federation" forum
which specifically addresses opportunities in development projects being planned
fro Indonesia.

He added that the many successes that Malaysia's contractors achieved in
various countries put them in good stead to capitalise on the opportunities
available in Indonesia.
