AZERI PREMIER MEETS HIS CZECH COUNTERPART
Baku, 13 February (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Prime Minister Artur Rasizade met with his Czech counterpart Mirek Topolanek, in Baku, on February 13.
Mr. Rasizade underlined that Azerbaijan intends to actively integrate into the
European structures. On political and economic stability in the country, Azerbaijani
Premier noted that a sore point for Azerbaijan and the whole region is unsettled
Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno Karabakh because of Armenia`s
non-constructive position. He gave detailed information about the history of the
conflict resulted in deportation of the peaceful Azerbaijani population from their
native lands and familiarized with news photography of the massacre committed by
Armenian armed forces against the residents of Azerbaijani city – Khojaly. The sides
exchanged views on situation in the region and other issues of mutual interest.
Later, Mr. Topolanek briefed for the media representatives emphasizing that priority
of the Czech presidency at the EU is creation of new initiatives for the countries
seeking to cooperate with the European Union, such as simplification of visa regime,
and creation of the free trade zone. He also noted that issues of widening the
relations between the two countries, as well as mutual ties of EU with Azerbaijan
were discussed.
