DAEJEON, Feb. 15 (Yonhap) -- Prosecutors on Sunday raided the office and
residence of former president Roh Moo-hyun's biggest financial supporter, Kang
Geum-won, as part of their investigation into Kang's alleged tax evasion,
officials at the Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office said.
Kang, chairman of Changshin Textile Co., has been under investigation for his
alleged involvement in tax evasion and embezzlement cases, said the prosecution
officials.
Kang, a golfing buddy of Roh who served a five-year presidential term until
February 2008, was arrested in 2004 for tax evasion and pardoned the following
year.
According to the officials, prosecutors seized boxes of accounting books and
computer discs during their raid on Kang's office at a golf club, south of Seoul,
and his residence in Seoul.
They added prosecutors are also investigating Kang's banking accounts to track
