Seoul stocks open lower on big-cap losses

SEOUL, Feb. 16 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks got off to a weak start Monday as
large caps lost ground, analysts said.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) traded down 10.81 points,
or 0.91 percent, to 1,181.63 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
Heavy selling by foreign and institutional investors weighed on large-cap stocks
after Wall Street tumbled Friday on deepening economic concerns.
The local currency was trading at 1,407.9 won against the U.S. dollar as of 9:15
a.m., down 4.4 won from Friday's close.
