ADB PRESIDENT MEETS FINANCE MINISTER

Jakarta, Feb. 16 (ANTARA) - Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Haruhiko Kuroda held a meeting with Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati at the Finance Ministry office here on Monday.

Minister Indrawati after the meeting told the press that she and the ADB president discussed preparations for the 42nd Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of ADB to be held in Nusa Dua, Bali Island, on May 2-5, 2009.
"The ADB's 42nd Annual Meeting will discuss several important agenda concerning global, Asian, and Indonesian issues," the finance minister said.
The ADB meeting will be highlighted by some events such as seminars, the Indonesian Day, ASEAN+3 Day, and ASEAN Investment Day.
"On the occasion, of course there will also be several bilateral meetings between countries," she said.
She said that the ADB President was expected to meet President Yudhoyono on Monday at 01.00 pm.
The ADB annual meeting in Bali will be attended by around 3,000-4,000 participants, including governors of central banks, finance ministers, private businessmen, academicians, and NGO activists from several countries.
"The meeting will also formulate a long-term strategic plan for 2008-2020 which is formally implemented starting 2009," she said.
