1st International Conference on Biotechnology (ICOB) opens its works
Riyadh, February 16, SPA -- Dr. Khalid Mohammed Al Anqari, Minister
of Higher Education opened here today the 3-day First International
Conference on Biotechnology.
The conference is entitled "Towards Knowledge-Based economy" and is
organized by KSU Center of Excellence in Biotechnology Research at
King Fahad Cultural Center.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Prof. Abdullah A. Al-Doss, Director of
the Centre of Excellence in Biotechnology Research said the
conference focuses on some most important applications of
biotechnology in medical sciences, in agricultural science, in the
field of environment and industrial biotechnology as well as an
economic dimension and as the source of investment.
The abstracts of the conference include the Applications of
biotechnology in medical sciences, in obesity, cancer, Allergy &
immunology, animal models, drug delivery and vaccine production.
According to Dr.Addous, the number of researchers participating in
the conference is more than 150 researchers in various applications
of biotechnology in various fields, pointing out that the Center has
attracted outstanding researchers. It also works to encourage
university research groups to provide effective research proposals.
