Human Rights Commission Chief receives European Commission Envoy

Riyadh. Feb. 16, SPA -- Dr Bandar Al-Eiban, the Chairman of the
Human Rights Commission, received here today ambassador of the
European Commission Luige Narbone.


Speaking on the occasion, Al-Eiban underlined the importance of
contacts between the Commission and the EU.


Meanwhile, the ambassador lauded the reshuffling of the Cabinet and
said changes always yield positive and effective results.


They reviewed the periodical report on the human rights in the
Kingdom, which was discussed earlier this month at the council of
human rights.


Al-Eiban reiterated that Islam respects human rights, and the
violations committed by some individuals have noting to do with the
teachings of Islam.
